Eid-ul-Fitr is also spelled as Eid-al-Fitr,  also called “Festival of Breaking Fast“. Eid al-Fitr marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, which traditionally takes place over a three day period.

‘The month of Ramadan is that in which the Quran was revealed , a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So, whoever sights the new moon of the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey – then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and wants for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that to which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful.’
– Quran 2:185

Eid is a festival of happiness for Muslims. It starts with the prayer of Eid after dawn prayers. People wear new clothes and wear a perfume to prayer, go to the mosque with great preparation. After completion of the prayer, people greet  and embrace each other. Women who wants to go and perform prayer in Eidgaah can go and pray or they can also pray at home.

Elders of the house give money as Eidi in the joy of Eid. Children wear new clothes and greet all the elders of the house and get their admiration.

The most important thing in Eid al-Fitr is the sweet dish name of Sheer Khurma, which is enjoyed by all people in the house as well as in neighboring neighborhoods, relatives and friends.
